Love Hurts: Calling All Story Tellers!

heartWhen: February 4-8 moth   Who: 5 lucky FHS students and acclaimed New York storytelling corps The Moth. Listen and  become a convert.

What: MothShop 2013 A workshop for students with stories to tell. Moth producers guide students through the Moth storytelling process of revision and delivery. Participants will perform at an invitational student assembly on Friday February 8 and selected participants will perform at the FHS talent show the evening of February 8

When: The week of February4- 8, 2012. Participants:  1)MUST  attend three workshop rehearsals on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday after school; 2) attend the Moth’s performance Tuesday 2/5 evening at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall;  3) perform at a special invitational assembly on Friday 2/8.  4)may be lucky winner chosen to perform at the FHS Talent Show Friday 2/8 evening

How: Interested students each submit a draft of a personal narrative/autobiographical story  to Sandra Childs box (or through your English teacher) by January 18 3pm. Teachers may have all students submit stories to them earlier in the week and forward drafts of possible/interested candidates to Childs. Interested students will also deliver rough read aloud during week of January 22-25. Forsythe and Childs will select up to 6 students to participate. For more resources see also Storytelling Links

The Moth is a national non-profit dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling. It is a celebration of expert storytellers  and the beginner who has lived through something extraordinary and wants to share it.
